Angela Smith
Abstract painting by Angela Smith

I am very happy to have been selected for this year’s Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy in London. The theme of the show is Climate and the curator is Alison Wilding RA. I will be showing this painting Hazard, a diptych of two varying degrees of risk and danger. The mainly yellow painting has a smooth curve of bulging paint which although seems fragile is stable and secure. Unlike the predominantly black painting which has two main weak points and is clinging on by the skin of its teeth.

Yoolysees
Yoolysees

I am excited to be showing paintings in Yoolysees an exhibition  celebrating 100 years of James Joyce’s Ulysees, curated by Lucy Brennan Shiel. There are over 30 artists taking part and a great programme of events is planned. As a member of Ruddy Cheek Artist Collective I will be responding to Molly’s Soliloquy.
